Tailing Pond is an award-winning documentary, directed by the co-founder of . The film is a political expose of India’s deleterious nuclear program. As a result of improper extraction techniques, thousands of people have suffered from morbidities and mortality due to direct exposure to nuclear waste contamination.

Tailing Pond investigates the adverse effects of uranium extraction investigates the adverse effects of uranium extraction on the health of the indigenous population of Jadugora, India.

  • Monica Vishnu was born and raised in New York City. She graduated from The Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University in 2016. With her research work, Monica learned that regardless of the major advances that have taken place in public health, health disparities continue to persist at alarming levels. She is committed to reconciling these inequalities among afflicted populations. Monica is passionate about providing the susceptible communities of Jadugora with immediate access to provisions and services to improve their overall health status.

  • Saurav Vishnu was born several kilometers away from Jadugora. He found success as an entrepreneur in New York City. His success in the industry however could overshadow the constant tug his hometown had on his heart. Saurav visited his hometown in 2015. Upon reacquaintance with the people of his childhood he found his passion- to tell their stories. Tailing Pond is the first of many stories he has yet to tell. With Tailing Pond Saurav brought the plight of Jadugora to an international platform. However, simply telling the world is not enough. As chairman, Saurav strives to bring aid and relief to the families who have suffered from radioactive pollution in Jadugora.
